My Top 3 Favorite Bad Hair Day Hacks

Let's talk about hair. I've fully committed into transitioning my hair from relaxed to natural about 3 months ago. Although I hadn't had a relaxer since January, I was still straightening it with flatirons and blowdryers. It's definitely been a journey and I will admit that I've had more bad hair days than good ones, but it's been exciting to truly get to know my real hair. The curls are more visible now, which is why I haven't given up yet. I wanted to make a post on how I tame my hair on bad hair days.

1.) Head Scarfs

Silk head scarfs and cloth headbands have been a lifesaver for me. I can't even count how many times I've been able to use them to cover up bad twist outs, cover up flyaway strands, or parts of my hair that I put too much curling cream in. I use regular silk scarfs for this, and I also bought a 12 pack of different colored cloth headbands on Amazon. They are truly my favorite.

2.) Pineapple, Buns, and Top Buns

If you've been following me on Instagram or just know me in general, you'll notice that I rarely keep my hair out lately. Buns, pineapples, and top buns have been my go to styles. Unfortunately now that I'm transitioning my ends have thinned out which has made my hair look bad in ponytails. I usually add oil to my ends and my scalp, and then put it into a bun, which has been great at covering my ends.

3.) Perm Rods

Prior to my natural hair journey I had no clue how to put rollers in my hair. I tried different ones, but never got the hang of it. So using perm rods seemed like a daunting task to me. Fortunately they're extremely easy to use, you just have to make sure to keep them tight. They also come in a lot of different sizes which makes them perfect for all hair lengths.

Hair Update:

My hair has grown like crazy since I've gone natural. Since  I usually keep it up, you don't really notice it, but when I comb and stretch it, it reaches past mid back. I always heard that natural hair grows faster, and I'm definitely seeing it with my own hair.
